Analysis tools
We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device and do not contain viruses, Trojans, or other malware.
Information relating to the specific device used is stored in the cookie. However, this does not mean that we immediately become aware of your identity.
The use of cookies serves to make the use of our website more pleasant for you. We use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our website.
In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimize user-friendliness, which are stored on your device for a specific period of time. If you visit our site again to use our services, it will automatically recognize that you have already been with us and what entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to enter them again.
On the other hand, we use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you (see section 5). These cookies enable us to automatically recognize that you have already visited our site when you return. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.
The data processed by cookies is necessary for the purposes mentioned above in order to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or so that a message always appears before a new cookie is created. However, completely deactivating cookies may mean that you cannot use all the functions of our website.
Analyse-Tools
Tracking tools
The tracking measures listed below and used by us are carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. With the tracking measures used, we want to ensure a needs-based design and the ongoing optimization of our website. We also use tracking measures to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you. These interests are to be regarded as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned provision.
The respective data processing purposes and data categories can be found in the corresponding tracking tools.
I. Google Analytics[NR1]
For the purpose of designing our website in line with user requirements and continuously optimizing it, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as “Google”). In this context, pseudonymized usage profiles are created and cookies (see section 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as
• browser type/version,
• operating system used,
• referrer URL (the previously visited page),
• host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
• time of the server request,
are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage for the purposes of market research and the design of this website in line with user needs. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are anonymized so that they cannot be assigned (IP masking).
You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation option for the most common browsers, which gives you more control over what data is collected and processed by Google. If you activate this option, no information about your website visit will be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, activation does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services we may use. For more information about the deactivation option provided by Google and how to activate this option, please visit the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again.
II. Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We also use Google Conversion Tracking to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our website for you. Google Adwords places a cookie (see section 4) on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Google ad.
These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the AdWords customer's website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.
Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. AdWords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.
If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the necessary cookie setting—for example, by changing your browser settings to disable the automatic setting of cookies in general. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com.” Google's privacy policy on conversion tracking can be found here (https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html).
III. Matomo (formerly Piwik)
We use the open source software Matomo to analyze and statistically evaluate the use of the website. Cookies are used for this purpose (see section 4). The information generated by the cookie about the use of the website is transmitted to our servers and summarized in pseudonymous usage profiles. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website and to enable us to design our website in line with user requirements. The information is not passed on to third parties.
Under no circumstances is the IP address linked to other data relating to the user. The IP addresses are anonymized so that they cannot be assigned to a specific user (IP masking).
Your visit to this website is currently being tracked by Matomo web analytics. Click here (https://matamo.org/docs/privacy/) to stop your visit from being tracked.
IV. Use of reCAPTCHA
To protect input forms on our site, we use the “reCAPTCHA” service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google.” This service allows us to distinguish whether the input is human or automated and therefore abusive.
To the best of our knowledge, the referrer URL, IP address, website visitor behavior, information about the operating system, browser and length of stay, cookies, display instructions and scripts, user input behavior and mouse movements in the area of the “reCAPTCHA” checkbox are transmitted to “Google”.
Google uses the information obtained in this way to digitize books and other printed materials and to optimize services such as Google Street View and Google Maps (e.g., house number and street name recognition).
The IP address transmitted as part of “reCAPTCHA” is not merged with other Google data unless you are logged into your Google account when using the “reCAPTCHA” plug-in. If you want to prevent Google from transmitting and storing data about you and your behavior on our website, you must log out of Google before visiting our site or using the reCAPTCHA plug-in.
V. VG WORT
We use the so-called “tracking pixel” of the WORT collecting society in the form of the SZM (“Scalable Central Measurement Method”) from the provider INFOnline GmbH (INFOnline GmbH, Forum Bonn Nord, Brühler Str. 9, 53119 Bonn) on our website to determine statistical indicators relating to the probability of texts being copied.
The data obtained in this process is collected anonymously. The recording of access figures uses either a so-called session cookie or a signature created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser to recognize visitors to our site. The IP address is only processed in anonymized form. Individual users are not identified at any time. This procedure is used to determine the probability of individual texts being copied.
VI. wordpress.com STATS
We use the Jetpack component from Automattic Inc., 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States of America, on our website, utilizing technology from Quantcast Corp., 201 Third Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States of America. Each time our website is accessed, cookies are used to collect data for web analysis and store it in the USA. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the visitor's internet browser to enable recognition of the visitor's internet browser. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing but before storage. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly or delete cookies that have already been stored; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of our website to their full extent.
The collection and use of data by the Jetpack component can be objected to with effect for the future if you set an opt-out cookie in your browser via the page http://www.quantcast.com/opt-out. If you delete all cookies from your browser, the process must be repeated.
I. YouTube videos
We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube is informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.
When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.
If you have disabled the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to expect such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.
Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/
Social media plug-ins
On the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, we use social plug-ins from the social networks Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on our website to raise awareness of our law firm. The underlying advertising purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. Responsibility for data protection-compliant operation must be ensured by the respective providers. We integrate these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website as best as possible.
I. Facebook
Our website uses social media plugins from Facebook to make its use more personal. For this purpose, we use the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button. This is a service offered by Facebook.
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook's servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated into the website.
By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can directly associate your visit to our website with your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook friends.
Facebook may use this information for advertising, market research, and the needs-based design of Facebook pages. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest, and relationship profiles, e.g., to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website, and to provide other services related to the use of Facebook.
If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
For information on the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook's privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).
II. Twitter
Plugins from the short message network Twitter Inc. (Twitter) are integrated into our website. You can recognize the Twitter plugins (tweet button) by the Twitter logo on our site. An overview of tweet buttons can be found here (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons).
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. Twitter thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the Twitter “tweet button” while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This allows Twitter to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Twitter.
If you do not want Twitter to be able to assign your visit to our pages, please log out of your Twitter user account.
Further information on this can be found in Twitter's privacy policy (https://twitter.com/privacy).
III. Instagram
Our website also uses social plugins (“plugins”) from Instagram, which is operated by Instagram LLC., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Instagram”).
The plugins are marked with an Instagram logo, for example in the form of an “Instagram camera.”
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Instagram's servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Instagram to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Instagram receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not currently logged in to Instagram.
This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to an Instagram server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged in to Instagram, Instagram can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Instagram” button, this information is also transmitted directly to an Instagram server and stored there.
The information will also be published on your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts there.
If you do not want Instagram to directly associate the data collected via our website with your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website.
For more information, please refer to Instagram's privacy policy (https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388).
IV. Pinterest
Our website features the “Pin it” button from the social network Pinterest, which is operated by Pinterest, Inc. – located at 808 Brannan St, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. When you use the “Pin it” button, Pinterest receives information that you have visited one of our web pages. If you are logged into your Pinterest account at the same time, Pinterest can also associate your visit with your Pinterest account. When you click the “Pin it” button, data is transmitted to Pinterest and stored on servers (in the USA). If you want to prevent this, you must log out of your Pinterest account before clicking the “Pin it” button. To protect your privacy, please refer to Pinterest's privacy policy at http://pinterest.com/about/privacy/ for further details on the collection, processing, and use of your data by Pinterest, as well as your legal options and settings.
V. Google Maps
Privacy PolicyThis website uses the Google Maps product from Google Inc. By using this website, you consent to the collection, processing, and use of automatically collected data by Google Inc., its representatives, and third parties.
The use of “Google Maps” and the information obtained via “Google Maps” is subject to Google's Terms of Use
http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/terms/regional.html
and the additional Terms of Service for “Google Maps”
https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.
VI. Xing
We use components from the XING.com network on our website. These components are a service provided by XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany.
Each time you visit our website that contains such a component, this component causes the browser you are using to download a corresponding representation of the XING component.
To the best of our knowledge, XING does not store any personal data of the user when our website is accessed. XING also does not store any IP addresses. Furthermore, there is no evaluation of usage behavior via the use of cookies in connection with the “XING Share Button.” Further information on this can be found in the privacy policy for the XING Share button at: https://www.xing.com/app/share?op=data_protection
VII. LinkedIn
Our website uses components of the LinkedIn network. LinkedIn is a service provided by LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Each time one of our webpages containing such a component is accessed, this component prompts your browser to download a corresponding display of the LinkedIn component.
Through this process, LinkedIn is informed about which specific page of our website is currently being visited. If you click the LinkedIn “Recommend” button while logged into your LinkedIn account, you can link the content of our pages to your LinkedIn profile. This enables LinkedIn to associate your visit to our website with your LinkedIn user account.
We have no influence over the data that LinkedIn collects through this process, nor do we have knowledge of the scope of the data collected by LinkedIn. We also have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted to LinkedIn. Details on data collection by LinkedIn as well as your rights and configuration options can be found in LinkedIn’s privacy policy, available at http://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
If you contact us via the instant messaging service WhatsApp, your phone number is automatically transmitted to us. We will also see your WhatsApp nickname.
Please note that confidentiality and data security are not guaranteed when using instant messaging services. By installing and using WhatsApp on your smartphone or mobile device, you agree to the terms and conditions of WhatsApp, over which we have no influence. Among other things, these terms include granting WhatsApp Inc. access to your phone number and the contacts stored on your mobile device. Data is also stored on servers belonging to WhatsApp Inc. that are not subject to European data protection laws. We are not liable for any damages resulting from the use of these platforms.
By actively contacting us, you consent to the use and storage of your phone number. The phone number is used exclusively for the provision of the described/subscribed WhatsApp service. Your data will not be shared with third parties.
The duration of data storage corresponds to the period during which you use the WhatsApp service. You can object to the storage of your number at any time. To do so, send us a WhatsApp message with a clear statement — your data will generally be deleted within 48 hours — and remove us from your contacts.
Google Fonts
We use “Google Fonts” on our website. These are fonts provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). We do this to ensure our website loads as smoothly and clearly as possible.
For display purposes, a connection is established between your browser and Google’s servers. The content of this communication includes your IP address. The legal basis for the above-mentioned processing operations is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, which allows us to pursue our legitimate interest in maintaining a uniform presentation.
You can find the opt-out option here:
https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated
You may also send us your objection at any time.
Further information about Google’s privacy policy is available at:
https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
Data Security
We use the commonly employed SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol during website visits, in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. Generally, this is 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we instead use 128-bit v3 technology. You can recognize whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed-key or lock symbol displayed in the lower status bar of your browser.
We also employ appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
